We have stalled again

SS rang to say that our tiling was supposed to start this week - 2 Dec - but the tiles haven't arrived from overseas. This is strange considering we selected from the standard builder's range month's ago. This means we have to wait another week before tiling can begin. We still don't have a garage door either. I guess that means nothing will happen this week.

Lots happening but not enough to move in before Christmas

We have been away and have come back to quite a bit of work done. We now have lockup. Internal walls/ceilings are finished and are ready to start painting. Wet areas are being done and kitchen being installed. This means the house will be just about finished before Christmas and then we will need to wait until end January for them to start again. Can't imagine what else would need to be done after that, other than the carpet and driveway.

This means another month of paying almost full mortgage and rent. Not easy, especially around Christmas. I guess we can pack and organise over the Christmas break ready for moving. Whoopy.

Have an inspection next week with the SS. We haven't been inside during the build because any time we have been there, no one else has, so I hope we don't find any major problems. Will post pictures after that.

Another slow week

Went out to the site today, gate was wide open, and no one there, as usual. Was told last week that gyprock would be completed this week, but nothing has started.

The brickwork has been cleaned on the lower part of the house but the fence is still filthy on both sides. I don't know how they could make such a mess.

The gyprock is in the garage, but has been most of the week, so if it rains, it will get all wet, as the garage faces west.

We're moving along again

Last week we had the lower roof tiles finished, stria board erected, electricals completed and aircon ducting installed. This week SHOULD see the linings started. If I can work out how to load some pictures, I will do that shortly.

Moving along slowly

Bricks have finally been completed. This last week we had facias and gutters installed and the top level roof tiles laid. Still a long way to go to finish the outside. Still need eaves done and bricks cleaned.
